"The painted boat carries wine in the West Lake, and the lotus flowers are crossed by the wind and the sound of orchestra. I return late with my feelings still unfinished, and the moon rises again by the willow pond.
Translation: Drinking a little wine and sitting in a painted boat in the lingering music, I feel that I haven't had enough fun yet, and the moon has risen by the willow pond.
Writing background: In the 15th year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty (1502), Mr. Yangming, who was 31 years old at the time, took leave to return home to recuperate due to physical discomfort. In the summer, he came to the West Lake in Hangzhou where the lotus flowers were in full bloom and wrote "West Lake Poems". From this poem, we can see that Mr. Wang Yangming enjoyed the beautiful scenery and tasted the wine.
